The beach was the main reason we chose this resort, and it completely delivered. The sand was soft, the water was calm and clear, and during our stay there was very little seaweed.

We brought inflatable inner tubes and floated in the ocean every single day, often with a drink in hand. The calm conditions made it easy to relax and also comfortable for our kids to swim and float nearby, which is something we don’t always feel at Caribbean resorts.

Dreams Dominicus La Romana does not have a large waterpark or water slides, but it does offer several spacious pools that worked well for our family. The pools are centrally located, making them easy to access from anywhere on the resort, and they never felt overly crowded during our stay.

Our kids didn’t use the kids club during our stay, which wasn’t a negative; it just wasn’t something they were interested in at their ages. Most of their time was spent at the beach, in the pools, or playing casual games around the resort. There were features like oversized chess boards set up throughout the property, which our kids enjoyed using during downtime.

One evening show that stood out featured performers juggling fire in and around the pool, which was unique and memorable. Other shows were enjoyable and followed the usual all-inclusive format, making evenings feel easygoing rather than packed with must-see events.

Our room at Dreams Dominicus La Romana was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and exactly what we needed for a family stay. After long days at the beach and pool, it was a calm place to relax and recharge.

We didn’t experience any issues with noise, and housekeeping kept the room well maintained throughout our stay. Beds were comfortable, the space felt functional for a family of four, and everything was in good working order.

Excursions & Things to Do Near Dreams Dominicus La Romana

While we were happy spending most of our time at the resort, we did take advantage of one excursion during our stay. It was a snorkeling trip that left directly from the resort. The convenience of not needing additional transportation made it an easy choice for a family outing.

The excursion included a boat ride around the area, with stops to snorkel and see different parts of the coastline. Adults were offered alcoholic drinks, kids were given snacks, and the overall vibe was fun and family-friendly.
